課程概述

This course provides an introduction to the principles of modern finance, emphasizing the financial aspects of managerial decisions.

Topics: time value of money, NPV, discounted cash flow valuation, internal rate of return, bond valuation, stock valuation, market efficiency, concepts of risk, diversification, portfolio theory, Capital Asset Pricing Model, and behavioral finance.

I will post lecture slide on the course website a couple days before class for preview. Hard copies will be provided in class.

Case study
We will do one case study in this course. I will assign questions beforehand for a preparation roadmap. It is critical that you arrive to each of those class sessions prepared and ready to contribute to class discussion.

Homework Assignments
There will be four homework assignments.

Calculator
You will need a calculator for the final exam. In addition to basic computations, your calculator needs to handle exponents. No tablet or notebook computers are allowed.
